NGC 1365 Closeup

This huge barred spiral galaxy in the Fornax cluster is about 56 million light years away.
It's approximately 200,000 light years across (about twice the size of our Milky Way) and is one of the finest examples of a barred spiral galaxy! At it's core lies a 2 million solar mass black hole that is spinning at near the speed of light.

Cropped (at full resolution) from the full frame for effect.
