A little touch of kitty heaven here, sandwiched between my cat bed and a wool blanket.
Ten days before this photo, I again went into diabetic shock, this time in the middle of the night as I slept between mom and dad.
They woke up to a, "What's that smell?" situation. I had lost bowel control, was having a seizure, and threw up everything in my system. (They never scold me for making a mess; they just clean it up.)
After rubbing some honey on my gums we went to the 24-hour emergency pet hospital and were there for 3-4 hours while the vets stabilized my blood sugar. It was so low when we first arrived that they could not obtain a numeric reading, which is a very serious situation.
What mom and dad learned from this episode is that managing my diabetes is more than insulin injections. They also have to make sure that I'm eating enough throughout the day to keep my glucose levels up.
