Sarihan Caravanserai (built 1249, restored 1991), Avanos, Nevsehir Province: From the courtyard looking through the main entrance. This was built as part of a network of stopping places on the several silk roads that the Seljuks used to promote travel of goods through their realm. The customary mosque is the room above the entrance way.
