Putting Christmas away

It's time to put the decorations away until next Christmas.
In Ireland we keep the decorations up until after January 6th, known as Little Christmas and also Nollaig na mBan or the Women's Christmas, when women were given the day off from housework and cooking,

Not sure what you mean; the retailers should have the Christmas decorations for 2016 up by next week. Along with the ones for Easter.
The shallow DOF makes a nice metaphor for another holiday season fading out.

It's always refreshing to clear out the Christmas stuff and start a bright, fresh new year!

I also keep decorations up until after the 6th. Now it is less than 360 days to Christmas again! A very lovely shot here. V

Sounds like a good tradition to me! Sad to see Christmas decorations disappearing, but a lovely capture of these. V.
