eight outer columns,
which symbolise how the central government and the provinces of Canada
give support and strength to each other, support sculpted fan vaults which
meet at the central column which supports the great fan vault forming the
ceiling of the hall (see yesterday’s email). The outer columns, and arches
are decorated with sculptures depicting Canadian life, flora and fauna.
