Pileated Woodpecker (F): SERIES of Two Images

Beckwith Township
Ontario

The little N1 V2 in combination with the 1 Nikkor 70-300mm VR lens continues to amaze me. The VR seems to really work. The EFOV (@35mm full frame) is 810mm. The shutter speed was 1/100th of a second; and the image looks sharp to me. Amazing!

Just for the hang of it, I have posted a second image (of the same Pileated Woodpecker; and taken within minutes of that taken with the N1V2) using a Nikon D810; using the AF-S 80-400mm VR lens. Exif Data: f/7.1; ISO 3200; shutter speed 1/800s; and focal length of 400mm.

I too really like the second one, mostly because of the crown. Sharp too!

Two nice shots of her in the snow. Love her flared crest in the second image.

Super second shot with his crown on display - not often seen like that.
