Taken from a notice in the museum: This is a scene from a bridal room. The day after the Henna feast, the groom arrives after having visited the mosque for prayer, to bring the bride to their new house. Tears will flow. The more, the happier they’ll be. The young bride kisses the hands and forehead of her parents, then rides off, while music plays. In the bridal room she waits, surrounded by her dowry, the production and collection of which she started as a child. She will not take off her veil until she has received the marriage gift (usually gold) from her husband.
