Uluru at Sunrise

Uluru is the an every changing canvas. It is a most magical space, especially when one learns the original inhabitants' beliefs about it. This was one of the many shots I took early in the morning. We got a bus when it was still dark out to the site and watched in silence and wonder at the constant evolution of the view as the sun came up.

Thank you for your kind comments. Uluru is a monolith. There is another one miles away in a straight line. An ancient land. It is even more impressive from the air. As one can see all the areas where water gathers and then runs down the rock, thereby attracting wildlife, an indigenous food source from miles around. However, since white tourism, the water has become polluted by climbers.

What an incredible place, Elaine. Amazing geology, and the photo composition is great.

A sight l've never seen, Elaine.
Strange to see this large rock
in an otherwise flat landscape.
Maybe it's a meteorite.
Good photo under the desert sky
