Our route took us north from Las Vegas to Wyoming then south to Colorado, to Moab in Utah and south to Arizona. We then went west to Joshua Tree national Park in California, north to Death Valley and our last few days were spent in the Valley of Fire State Park before the short journey to Las Vegas to drop off the vehicle and catch our flight home. Of course, the best laid of plans can go wrong! The idea was to go north first to avoid the cold and in particular, the snow coming south. We would them move south to the Arizona deserts in the cooler weather. Well, we had snow in Colorado and the weather was unusually warm in Sedona, Saguaro NP, Organ Pipe Cactus NM and in Death Valley where temperatures were about 15 F above the average for early November. But, despite that, it was a great trip.
