Ottawa, Ontario

A group of us had been out looking for Snowy owls. No success, so we went looking for a Black-backed Woodpecker that had been seen off one of the recreational trails in the southwest end of Ottawa. No joy there, either; but we were being mobbed by a flock of hungry Chickadees. A small pond was frozen over and we threw some seeds onto the ice; and photographed the Chickadees as they went after the seeds. They are so small and fast that it proved to be quite a challenge.
