Norah passed some time with making a drawing for the people at Innsbrucker hut. While waiting for dinner we were told some dorm space had opened up so we did get beds after all. Yay! Norah was free and Steve and I were 21 euro apiece. Dinner was a la carte. Steve and I had soup and spaghetti bolognese and Norah had a sausage plate. We shared a table with some friendly Austrians, two of which were local. They were all amazed we had come from the US to hike in Austria. The local couple revealed they had lived in the area for years, but it was their first time at Innsbrucker Hut. Similar to our previous trips in the Dolomites, we met very few Americans on our trip and people were often very surprised to find hikers from the US on the trails (lucky for us many Germans trek in Austria and northern Italy and many of them speak English, so we are able to converse with fellow travelers).
