I chose a shallow DOF (f/4.5) to keep attention only on the front part of the sprouts.
Taken at our local Farmers Market this morning.

Nikon D5100 ,AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
1/500s f/4.5 at 48.0mm iso320 full exif

Very neat shot. I don't like brussel sprouts myself, but you did a great job of making them look good.
