In the late 1540's Giorgio Vasari and his workshop were commissioned to do a
giantic make-over of the interior decoration of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
The walls, window sills and ceilings were painted with decorations that fitted the fashion of the era.
The entire job took 15 years between 1550 and 1565. Here you see a detail of one of the many murals done by Giorgio Vasari. It is actually the ceiling above one of the stair cases.
