Picture taken in Fairbanks Alaska during the World Ice Carving Championship competition. This particular piece exceeds 2 meters in height and 1 meter in width (looking at it head-on). One of the reason's the competitors like working with this particular ice, is that it has been claimed to be the clearest in the world since it contains very little oxygen...I think its translucence is a testament to the claim.
