Small soapstone mould with the representation of a ‘Anatolian holy marriage’: a Storm god with his conical hat, and a fertility goddess. Excavated in the ‘Karum’ (Assyrian merchant-colony) of Kaneş/Kültepe. Dated 18th century BC (Period of the Anatolian City-states).
The mould was used to cast lead plaques or to produce copies of it in clay.
