Spotted Lake, near Osoyoos

located just west of Osoyoos, Spotted Lake is a rich repository of minerals...as water evaporates over the hot summer months, the minerals crystallize in many pools...oddly enough, although the place is revered by area native bands for its restorative effects, during WW1 salts were skimmed from the surface, and shipped to the eastern USA for use in the manufacture of ammunition

A fine image! You must have had a powerful lens to capture all that detail ...or maybe back then there wasn’t a forbidden gate to keep you well away. Great detail of the mineral spots. The reflection of the green trees in the watery pools adds another element of interest and beauty. Next time I will try again in hopes for more defined spots. Also very interesting tidbits of info you have added as well. I love this kind of stuff!
