On my morning stroll, I thought I spied an oil tanker run aground , just off of Berry Head , near Brixham.Thoughts of the Torrey Canyon(for those of us old enough to remember that disaster).It was rather a display of just how large tankers are.The beast was about 2 miles beyond Berry Head, in a deep anchorage.There was another in Torbay , all the time we were here.We were told that recently,a tanker(empty) sat in the bay for almost two years as the owners went bust, and no-one would pay to move it.
