Bird's nest fungi (Nidularia pulvinata)

QU Biological Station. This is the same fungus as shown in the previous image, but this time looking down on it from above. The veil is partially torn off, showing a hint of the white 'eggs' inside. These are in the same family as puffballs. Their spores are dispersed when water hits the eggs and causes them to open.
