The N&W's Pocahontas Branch originated at Bluestone Junction located at N373.8 on the Pocahontas Division mainline. On December 29, 2012 we are looking east along the beginning of the Pocahontas Branch towards Bluestone Junction. Bridge No. 852, which carries the mainline over the Bluestone River, is visible in the distant left. The branch has been severed from the mainline for many years with the rails now disappearing into the dirt just around the distant curve where there once stood a station and interlocking tower.
