Panorama of St-Cirq-Lapopie
One of the most important sites in the Lot Valley, perched on a cliff 300 ft above the river Lot.
This panorama is from 8 images shot in portrait format, and shows the remains of a fort, dating from the 13th century,
home to three noble families of Lapopie, Gourdon and Cardaillac, who hedged their bets in the Albigensian Crusades
by paying tribute to both the Counts of Toulouse, the Kings of France and the Roman Catholic Church.
It was abandoned in the 16th century.
