After church this morning Ginny and I headed out to the Octoberfest at the German Club in Newark, Delaware. We had a great time. First order of the day once we were inside was, of course, a glass of Paulaner Octoberfest beer. Very good. Better than Spaten, for sure. Then we headed to the serving line to get some roast pig. We had decided that we were going to split portions all day that way we could sample more food before becoming comatose from too much food. We also went on a number of the amusement rides which were a lot of fun. Today's photo is Ginny driving the bumper cars. By the end of the day we had sampled roast pig, bratwurst, roll mops (pickled herring rolls) and some nice cakes. We had shared a number of beers and one diet Coke. We saw the dance group from the club perform, including the youngsters, which was pretty fun. We danced a little then headed for the exit. Along the way we had a nice chat with our friend Carl. So it was a very exciting adventure. I would come again if we are in town at the right time.
When we got home, Richard and Christiane arrived with a very nice dinner a friend of hers from work had given them. So we had a very good supper and enjoyed an Elissa IPA which I had imported from St. Arnold's Brewery in Houston.
