Two weeks ago, I had computer problems. At the weekend the problem reappeared and gremlins ate some of my files.
So I thought I would give in and buy a new system, so a quick 'phone call to Dell followed.
As my monitor was a bit old and taking on a pink hue, I also bought two 24" screens.
Well, today lots of boxes arrived. Great excitement followed, then a few shakes of the head, some expletives and lastly despair.
How come a Dell PC won't connect to a Dell monitor with Dell supplied cables ???
The PC video card as two connections for DVI and one for mini-HDMI. The monitor has connections for DisplayPort and full-size HDMI.
I did manage to connect my old screens, just long enough to log on to Amazon and buy some additional DVI-to-HDMI cables.
Round two of Bill against the machine is scheduled for tomorrow.
