Under the guise of an early autumn sunset, NS 23G tackles the famous Blue Ridge Grade just east of Roanoke, VA. We are at Webster, which is home to one of the few remaining N&W CPL cantilever signals of this particular style. The crew has another 2-1/2 miles of the grade remaining before they encounter more favorable conditions as they make their way east to Norfolk. Photo taken on October 2, 2010.
