Taken using the new Nikon TC-14E III 1.4x Teleconverter on the 80-400 AF-S VR lens. I wondered if it would be sharper than the TC-14E II; which is l(not unexpectedly) less than impressive on the AF-S 80-400mm VR.

Obviously with a slow lens like the 80-400, one would not normally use a teleconverter; but I was curious and photography is about experimentation and "fun"; so WTF.
Well, the lighting was not great and the subject was "agile"; but I believe the result is marginally better than what I obtained with the older 1.4x teleconverter. I will try this again in brighter lighting, one day.
