65 Chev 327-350

This engine came out in 1965, Code L-79, and was available in the Corvette and Chevelle. It was variously called "the Hydraulic Hauler," due to it having hydraulic lifters, or simply "The Giant Killer." It was quick.

In 1966 it was also available in the Nova, for one glorious year. That doesn't mean some 67 Novas didn't get it, as Chevy would often add an otherwise unavailable engine to a vehicle on a COPO order (Central Office Production Order), a little known and used method for all engines and all lines.

In 1967, it was still rated 350HP in the Corvette, but Chevelle versions were listed at 325HP, supposedly for insurance purposes, but it was the same engine.

1968 was its' last year, being available in the Corvette, Chevelle, and again in the Nova.
