I would listen for that train headed east. That little zipper on its slender track. Closing out the starshine, the lightshine. Shifting Tennessee off its back. I wondered how many times it left and then returned. How many times it left again. If the silence -- even in the instant when it could simply be -- did miss that metallic shiver.
