Reveler Conservation Area. This is a very attractive leafhopper nymph. As an adult it looks totally different, but equally attractive. Unlike many leafhoppers which overwinter in the egg stage, these guys spend the winter as adults, buried deep down under leaf litter. Hence, they are one of the first insects, and one of the first leafhoppers, to be seen in spring. I've found them on warm sunny slopes in woodland openings, when there is still snow on the ground.
