Je suis un sergent-major de l'armée de terre française. Depuis 1916 nous avons reçu le nouvel uniforme de couleur bleu Horizon, plus moderne il permet au soldat de mieux se camoufler sur le champ de bataille.

Soldat de l'armée d'active je porte à la ceinture l'étui simplifié pour mon revolver modèle 1893.
Lors des assauts, les sous-officiers le brandissait tout en sifflant pour indiquer aux hommes de troupes la marche à suivre pour rejoindre la tranchée ennemie au péril de leur vies.

Il porte le calot que les hommes de troupes portaiten loin des zones de combats tout en fumant une pipe remplie d'un tabac gris très fort et très grossier à l'odeur caractéristique, capable de masquer les odeurs nauséabond qui règnent dans la tranchée.
