A set of seven consecutive shots of a female Purple Martin, taken over a 2 to 3 second span. This Martin's house is down whilst the young birds are being banded. She seems to be confused and searching for her home and young, only to be turned away by the occupants of the still raised apartment.
There are two Martin apartments side by side at this location. In the top image she is checking out the other one which is still up, but alas, her home is not there. She makes many twists and turns as she flies about and around this apartment before finally deciding (in the last image) to fly on to and then perch on its roof for a short period before flying off again in search of food and then her young.
Up on to the roof to wait for her apartment to be raised.
