A photo of Ginny sitting in the airport means we are off again on a trip. This time it is a month in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Nefoundland and Labrador. During this sojourn we are taking two Road Scholar trips which are supposed to be interesting educational experiences. Our friends Leo and Llewellen from Juneau took both of these recently and really liked them. Ginny and I are quite excited to give them a try. For the last week of our adventure we are going to St. John Newfoundland and renting a car for a drive about of the eastern part of the province.
Our trip to Halifax was pretty crappy because we had to fly Delta Airlines. These guys are awful. We have flown them quite a bit this year and have been screwed each time. This time between flight rescheduling and delays we ended up in Halifax at 12:30 am. We took a cab to the hotel and finally managed to get to sleep at 2 am. Our cab driver was very friendly, and we got a 25 minute introduction to Halifax which was interesting.
And so we are off. I am very much looking forward to this trip. I would say that the most interesting thing to me is going to be L'Anse aux Meadows, the first European settlement in North America. Go Vikings! (not the Minnesota type)
