We set out on a short road trip this morning. The objectives were New Orleans and Jacksonville. We got to New Orleans in mid afternoon and had a nice time with our friends Karen and Paul. Karen made a very nice dinner of skewered salmon, onion and mushrooms. It was very good. Then we headed down St. Charles Street on the trolley to the Irish House pub. It was trivia night, which was the purpose of our visit. Their daughter Kate joined us and we did pretty well. We also did pretty well with the draft beers. Smithwicks, Harp and Guiness seemed just about right. We did end up in third place (out of 11) and got a $10 dollar gift certificate which went a little way to offset the cost of the refreshments. A good time was had by all. This was the best organized trivia night we had been to. We will keep Wednesday night in mind for the right time to be in New Orleans.
