I recently experienced the thrill of watching a female Superb Lyrebird building a nest. She would fossick around in a damp gully to select a suitable stick, bark, piece of fern frond or mound of moss. Next she would run up the bank to the tree close to me (in the pic), run partially up the trunk and fly awkwardly onto a thick branch.
