This identity comes via BugGuide.net as do many on my site.
I don't own a good macro lens so, after a frustrating try with the SX50, I used my EF 24-105 f/4L on the 6D for this shot.
As a result, even though I was as close as I could focus, this is a postage stamp size crop.
All things considered; hand held, looking up, bright sky skewing the light meter and the bug moving steadily, it's not too bad.
Thank goodness for Photoshop!
