A lone deer in a wheatfield , but........

St.John's farm , Hoe Lane , Abridge , Essex

But,it wasn't alone. There were 7 young stags, initially, lying just below the height of the crop.It really was quite funny to watch the tips of antlers moving erratically along the level of the crop in the field. As we, my three dogs and I,climbed the hill into the same field,so 1 young stag stood up,saw me and froze. It observed me for almost 5 minutes, before the rest of the stags stood up,whence they made the collective decision to head off in the opposite direction to me.
In shot, just to the left of the stag, can be seen the tips of another pair of antlers.
