I'm now at my destination, standing on top of McCall Point at 1,722 feet elevation, looking at Mt. Adams, directly north from where I'm standing. Mt. Adams has the cross section of an oval with a minor/major axis ratio of 1/2. We're looking across the minor axis from left to right. This is a HUGE volcano, second largest in the Pacific Northwest Cascade Range and from this aspect we're looking at the smallest profile of the mountain. It is 35 air miles away.
