Thun. Kornhaus

view map

The Kornhaus on the Schweinemarkt (Schwäbisgasse) was mentioned for the first time in 1521. It was rebuilt in 1762 for the Thun Hospital Office by the foreman Conrad Storp and Johann Rudolf Stähli.
Parts of the Kornhaus were built in half-timbered style with a large hipped roof. A porch was added to the building in 1980.

Despite the later alterations a very good example of the local architecture. I like the roof lines and interesting window placement. "V"
