Not the best exposure for this kind of shot but it worked ok. When I was young we would go for drives in the country to find them, that was a real Sunday treat... now a days kids have better things to do... text, ipod games, and maybe get off the couch for fast food.. Probably not totally true but not far off...
This shooting star is half done but still fresh one coming on..
Overview
Shooting star (Dodecatheon meadia), a perennial wildflower native to North America, produces star-like, pendulous flowers in shades of white, pink and violet in late spring to early summer. Closely related to primroses, shooting star grows wild in open woodlands, glades, meadows and prairies across the country. In cultivation, the plant performs best in woodland, rock and wildflower gardens. Once established, the long-lived shooting star plant returns year after year with only minimal care and maintenance.
