Coastal Wolf

This shot was taken from a dive boat, and unfortunately, I had only the macro lens I was using underwater. One or more of these wolves terrorized the lone winter caretaker at the very remote island dive lodge (God's Pocket) this past winter. She believed they were trying to kill (and undoubtedly eat) the dog who was her sole companion on the island during the winter. Port Hardy, British Columbia, Canada

Excellent photo, Hal. Had to look this one up. It seems there are genetic and behavioral difference between the Costal and inland Timber wolf. Very interesting and a great pose. Thanks for posting. Vote.

A marvelous wildlife capture Hal. The caretaker is a very brave woman living alone in such conditions. V

Great shot, Hal. That would keep you on your toes all winter.

Good shot with your macro lens Hal. I can't comprehend anyone living or overwintering on an island alone.
