One of my main goals was to photograph Mountain Quail. I had seen one distant bird at Kitchen Creek on my last trip, but way too far for a decent photo. I had seen one Mountain up on Mt. Pinos the previous day of this trip, but in too heavy a cover for a photo, so a great bit of luck when I caught this female in the road before daybreak even.
