Hummingbirds all over the place. Since the first young ones started showing up almost a month ago, they have seemed to steadily increase. They buzz past me so close I automatically duck even though I know they won't hit me. They chase each other seemingly just for the fun of it as well as protecting territory. The Rufous are noted as the most aggressive but often the Anna's chases them. At present it seems everyone is chasing everyone else with no regard as to sex or age.
They all love the water and especially two or three special places where they get right into the water where it runs over a rock. You would think the water would push them off but it doesn't. I'm glad the Anna's are around all year now, it would seem not right if there were no hummers in the yard.
