The Tuğra’s of three sultans. From top to bottom:
Tuğra of Sultan Abdulaziz (1861-1876), Imperial coat of arms with the tuğra of Sultan Abdulhamit II (1876-1909) and Coat of arms with the tuğra of Sultan Abdülhamit II (1876-1909).
A tuğra a calligraphic monogram, seal or signature of an Ottoman sultan. It was designed at the beginning of the sultan's reign and drawn by the court calligrapher or nişancı on written documents.
