Westport, Washington

Meet Mr. 28!

This bull sea lion had this spot to lay all to himself, while the rest of his harem (about 150 others) filled the float behind him, even double stacked. While the others snapped at each other, quarreled, crawled on top and around, this guy was all by his little lonesome self and NO one was bothering him. And no wonder, he must weigh at least 2,000 pounds! There were several other large bulls around, but none that were even close to this guy's size!

So why do I call him Mr. 28? He is branded on his back side with a very clear 28! I laid on my belly about 15 feet in front of him looking straight in his face. He knew I was there and didn't care one bit.

Nice one Jim. I guess when you are his size there isn't much that intimidates you.
