These are important photos, as they put a very human face to events a century ago. I remember watching a documentary about the ending of the Raj in India, and Lord Mountbatten was talking about his boyhood, and several times, he mentioned "Uncle Nickie." It took me awhile to realize he was talking about Nicholas and his cousins.
