Westport, Washington

Sunset at the Westport Marina

Basking in the fading light of a beautiful day at the ocean were about 150 sea lions that had taken residency at the end of float #9. Leading the pack was "number 28" (photo to be posted soon), a VERY large bull weighing approximately 2,000 pounds. While all the other sea lions had to stack themselves like cord wood on the float, #28 was all by himself with no other fellows nearby. The rest of the group was almost constantly breaking out in fights and quarrels; quite the raucous bunch for sure! What a blast to see them and get very close to get some great interaction shots.

a crowded bunk - I guess not much sleeping takes place - nice shooting

Looks like a very bust fishing fleet

Spectacular shot Jim even without the sea lions.
With the animals it is unique.
They look peaceful enough in your photo, but apparently not so.

Gorgeous sunset with the boats on display with the sea lions. Had to be quite a scene to witness.

How cool is this. It is a lovely scene with the sun setting behind the boats. I'm looking forward to seeing #28!
