This image by Amedee Ozenfant is called "The Four Races".
The artist painted it in 1928, using bold colors , and abstract flat forms reminiscent of constructions.
The painting has slightly over life-sized figures, and occupies a huge wall at the top of a staircase leading to the top gallery area of the museum.
The man in black walking by the image, added an element of motion to the otherwise static image.
This particular wall is always a showcase for some new and very dramatic image due to its location,
and like most of the exhibits at the Pompidou, the exhibits are changed frequently.
