The Louvre Tuileries gardens have wonderful sculptures throughout the beautifully landscaped area,
which also has fountains, and places to have a light snack while you rest from the pleasures of visiting the Louvre.
The Tuileries gardens were created by Catherine de Medici in the 16th c,
and through the centuries since then, the gardens have been added to and in the 1990's,
enhanced by sculptures such as this one made by Aristide Maillol in the 1930's.
Being outdoors in this quiet atmosphere is refreshing and at the same time stimulating to see how man-made works of art
can enhance nature, and vice-versa.
