The Grande Galerie of the Louvre contains hundreds of major Italian paintings from the 14th -16th centuries, as well as some Spanish paintings from that period.
It is quite a long hike from beginning to end, with several side rooms devoted to French paintings.
Windows along one side of the gallery and the skylit roof provide wonderful natural light by which to view the paintings.
