I'm at the junction of the Pacific Crest Trail with the end of Trail No. 406-E, which begins at a junction with the Herman Creek Trail (406). The Pacific Crest Trail turns upwards at this point. This is where I got confused when I was at this junction last week, looking for The Pinnacles and Dry Creek Falls. I missed the Pacific Crest Trail going DOWN towards Cascade Locks and took the fork going UP, towards Wattham (sp?) Lake, 7 miles distant and a 3,000 foot climb. I climbed to 2,200 feet before giving up, facing up to the fact that "something was wrong."
