Overlooking Whitefish Bay,
Point Iroquois Light was first illuminated in 1857.
It is located at the entrance to the St. Mary's River
and the Soo Locks,
the connection between Lake Superior
and the other Great Lakes.

Point Iroquois was named for the Iroquois
warriors massacred there by the Ojibwe in 1662.
