In better days. In 1987, I took Dad to the Mt. Washington Auto Road, to do the drive to the top. Unfortunately, the temperature at the base was 40 degrees, so the weather at the top was just not a possibility, considering the high wind level. A modest guy, he wouldn't sit for portraits often, but we were about to turn around and go back to the hotel. Might as well get something for our trouble, I told him.
Mount Washington is in the background. I love this shot, and will truly treasure it.
Dad loved New England, as I do, and couldn't wait to see the leaves, and see his grand daughter, who was almost a year old at this time.
Dad, I love you, I miss you, and I thank you. You taught me more than I can say. I think of you every day, and always will. You'll always be "the Man" to me...God Bless You.
Rest In Peace.
